Average car buyers having large families are generally interested in purchasing cars that are roomy enough to accommodate their entire family. In fact, these car buyers had limited choices in the past: they were limited to minivans and passenger vans. These vans, although they served the purpose of being eight passenger vehicles, did not always deliver on the appearance and performance fronts. This problem was solved by the arrival of crossovers and SUVs and now there is a wider range of choices available in the market providing potential car buyers with a variety of configurations to suit their needs.
There is a range of eight passenger vehicles available in 2012 that sell for less than $30,000. Some of these vehicles include the Honda Pilot, Ford Econoline Wagon, Chevrolet Traverse, Chevrolet Express and Toyota Sienna. The minivan model from Toyota Sienna called the LE retails at around $25,000 and provides a fuel mileage of 18 mpg in cities and 24 mpg on highways. The Sienna comes with a 2.7-lit 187 hp engine and its leatherette trimmed interiors offer a third row of seating that is suitable for adults. You can also get more luxurious eight passenger vehicles. Some of the better ones include the Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon hybrid, Ford Expedition EL, Chevrolet Tahoe hybrid, Infinity QX56 and Toyota Land Cruiser. These luxury vehicles are available for around $40,000 except the Infinity vehicle, which costs approximately $59,000. This vehicle comes with a powerful 5.6-lit V8 engine that produces 400 hp.
The Infinity QX56 comes under the category of luxury, large SUVs. It is easily one of the best luxury large SUVs available on the market. However, you may not like its rough-road capabilities. The QX56 offers great performance and comes with fantastic interiors. The vehicle avoids the conventional boxy luxury large SUV appearance and goes with functional side vents and curved surfaces. The vehicle is surprisingly easy to handle for such a large SUV and packs more power than any other luxury 8 passenger vehicles. If you need all the functionalities in the interior of your eight-passenger vehicle, the QX56 is the one to get, especially if you do not require large towing and off road capabilities. Any such combination of a roomy cabin, driving performance and high tech interiors will be hard to find in the luxury large SUV segment. The QX56 comes in a single model in either 2WD or 4WD version. However, the car buyers can choose from five upgrade packages.
The Armada is one of the eight passenger vehicles that belong to the affordable large SUV segment. This is a good SUV for transporting people and towing trailers and boats. The performance is reasonable for an affordable SUV as well as for a large one. The V8 engine offers decent power and this vehicle is good enough to compete with the best in the segment in terms of towing capabilities. The Armada offers plenty of luggage space and for a vehicle this large it is nimble on its feet. Although it is an eight-passenger vehicle, the third row seating is not comfortable for adults.
